Hi! I’m Amanda, the photographer behind AMJ Photography. I’m based in the Youngstown area and photograph weddings, couples, families, maternity, newborns, seniors, and pretty much all of the moments worth remembering.
My style has always been about capturing people as they actually are. I want the laughing, running around, kids being kids, little looks between you and your person, and all of those in-between moments that you probably didn’t even realize were happening.

I hear this ALL. THE. TIME.
You don’t have to know how to pose. You don’t have to practice beforehand. And you definitely don’t have to worry about what to do with your hands for your entire session.
I’ll guide you when you need it, but a lot of what we do involves movement, talking, laughing, and actually interacting with each other. Of course we’ll grab the classic everyone-looking-at-the-camera photos too, but the candid ones are usually the photos that end up meaning the most.
Your kids don’t have to sit perfectly still. Your toddler can run around. Your significant other who “hates pictures” is going to survive. I promise.
Photography in Youngstown & Northeast Ohio
One of my favorite parts about being a Youngstown Ohio photographer is how many different options we have for sessions. We can go somewhere outdoors, walk around downtown, find a field at golden hour, get in the water, stay cozy at home, or find somewhere completely different that fits what you have in mind. I don’t want every session I photograph to look exactly the same because every family, couple, and story I photograph is different. While Youngstown and Northeast Ohio are home, I also photograph regularly in Bucks County and the Philadelphia area and travel for weddings, elopements, and sessions.
