They Canceled Their Wedding 3 Months Before......and Went to Vegas Instead
Three months before their wedding, Emily + JT completely changed the plan. They had the wedding planned, the date was getting closer, and then they realized it just wasn’t what they wanted anymore. So they canceled it… and decided to elope in VEGAS instead. 😂 And when I got the “wanna come to Vegas?” message? Obviously the answer was YES. This was one of those days that reminded me why I freaking love elopements so much.
From Wedding Plans to “I Do” in Vegas
And just like that, the big wedding plans turned into a Las Vegas elopement—and honestly, it fit them SO well. Emily + JT got married at Bliss Wedding Chapel, but we made sure their day was about so much more than just showing up, saying “I do,” and leaving.
We ran around Vegas, explored, took entirely too many photos (obviously 😂), and actually had TIME to enjoy it. No rushing through a giant timeline. No checking off a million things because that’s what you’re “supposed” to do on a wedding day. Just the two of them getting freaking MARRIED and making a whole experience out of it.
And as their photographer? This is the kind of stuff I LIVE for.
The Best Part? They Did It Their Way.
THIS is exactly why I love elopements.
There is no rule saying your wedding has to look a certain way. You don’t need 200 guests, a packed timeline, or a year of planning if that isn’t what makes you happy. Emily + JT already had the traditional wedding planned—and they were brave enough to say, “You know what? This isn’t us.”
So they changed it.
They got on a plane, brought the people who mattered most, and got married at Bliss Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. And watching them walk back down that aisle officially MARRIED after completely changing their plans just three months before?! Yeah… freaking worth it. 🥹
Your wedding day should feel like YOUR wedding day. Big, small, traditional, completely untraditional—I don’t care. Just make it yours.
So… Who’s Taking Me to Vegas Next?
By the end of the day, the wedding clothes came off, the comfy clothes came on, and we were standing under the freaking Welcome to Las Vegas sign celebrating the fact that THEY ACTUALLY DID IT. 😂
They canceled the original plans. They got on a plane. They got married in Vegas. And they made the entire experience feel like them.
Days like this are exactly why I will never stop telling my couples that your wedding does not have to look like anyone else’s. I don’t care if you’re getting married at a huge venue in Ohio, running away to Vegas, standing under the Redwoods in California, or taking me somewhere I haven’t even been yet.
If it feels like you, I want in.
